Blood Campaign & Project Warmth
The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) successfully hosted a full-day Blood Grouping, Voluntary Blood Donation & Free Medical Campaign on November 24, 2025, at the ULAB Permanent Campus. Organized jointly by the ULAB Social Welfare Club (USWC) and the IEEE ULAB Student Branch, in collaboration with Rhythm Blood Centre, the campaign brought together students, faculty members, and staff for a powerful humanitarian initiative aimed at promoting safe blood donation and health awareness. Beginning at 10:00 AM, the event saw continuous participation, reflecting the strong sense of community responsibility within the university.
The campaign was honored by the presence of distinguished ULAB authorities whose support and
guidance significantly contributed to the program’s success. Among them were Dr. Nafees Mansoor, PhD, Advisor of the IEEE ULAB Student Branch; Md. Mahmud Hossain, Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Office (SAO); and Selima Kadir Chowdhury, Honorable Club Advisor of the ULAB Social Welfare Club. Their encouragement motivated both donors and volunteers and reinforced ULAB’s commitment to fostering humanitarian values among its students.
The primary objective of the campaign was to inspire both students and faculty members to participate in voluntary blood donation, while also raising awareness about the lifesaving importance of maintaining a safe and adequate blood supply in Bangladesh. In addition, the event provided free blood grouping services to individuals who had never previously identified their blood type, along with free health check-ups including blood pressure measurements, basic physical assessments, and consultations with professional medical staff. This comprehensive approach allowed participants not only to contribute to a humanitarian cause but also to gain valuable insight into their personal health and overall well-being.
Throughout the day, the Blood Grouping and Donation Drive remained active and well-coordinated. With professional medical assistance from Rhythm Blood Centre, participants were able to undergo eligibility assessments and donate blood in a safe, hygienic, and supportive environment. Both students and faculty members willingly stepped forward to donate, demonstrating a commendable spirit of compassion and unity. Alongside the donation services, the free medical check-up corner remained busy with participants seeking health evaluations and consultations, highlighting the campaign’s dual focus on service and awareness.
One of the most significant achievements of the campaign was the collection of over 80 bags of blood—an extraordinary contribution made possible through the generosity of students, faculty, and staff. These donations will directly support patients in need of urgent medical care and stand as a testament to the ULAB community’s commitment to saving lives. The dedication of volunteers from both USWC and IEEE ULAB Student Branch played an essential role in maintaining an organized workflow throughout the event as they managed registration, guided donors, assisted medical personnel, and ensured an overall smooth execution.
The strong collaboration between the participating clubs, the Student Affairs Office, and Rhythm Blood Centre not only enhanced the campaign’s effectiveness but also strengthened institutional partnerships for future community-focused initiatives. The event created significant positive impact across the campus, increasing awareness about voluntary blood donation, promoting active youth involvement in social welfare activities, and fostering a culture of empathy and responsibility within the university environment. Every drop of blood collected during the campaign symbolized hope, and every participant—whether a donor, volunteer, or organizer—contributed to saving lives beyond the borders of the campus. With the remarkable success of this humanitarian campaign, ULAB continues to demonstrate its dedication to nurturing socially responsible citizens and supporting meaningful community service initiatives. The ULAB Social Welfare Club and IEEE ULAB Student Branch expressed their gratitude to all participants and reaffirmed their commitment to organizing more impactful and compassionate programs in the future.
